About Kali Komi
Kali Komi
The village of Kali Komi is located 610 meters above sea level, it was called Molentziko and Paleochora in the old days.
In the village you can see old stone house that is several hundred years old, bridges and a watermill.
There are two monasteries in the area about 1 hour drive from Kali Komi. One is located in the municipal center of Anthiro, called “YM Katousion”. The other is actually in the neighboring
prefecture, just north of the village of Piges, called “Seltso”. It can be seen from the road to Kali Komi. None of these monasteries are in daily use at the moment.
The Acheloos River
The springs “Toska” and “Pouria” are
offered by several paths that start from the village and the road.
You have a wonderful view from the peaks of “Botsis”, “Kalatori”, “Koukia” and Stavros. There are also several unexplored caves in the area named “Vouzia”, “Papa toy Rongi”, Vaeni Znara”, “Bala and Fiva”.

Traditional festivals take place on May 20 and July 25 (Assumption of Anna) in the village square.
For those who want to enjoy the stunning and beautiful scenery, the mountains of Argithea are worth a visit. Forests, rivers and mountain ranges of Argithea await them. The most daring would not hesitate to wander and explore the beautiful
locations. The Acheloos River flows from the Pindos Mountains in central Greece, west to the Ionian Sea and is separated from the Thessalian plain at the southern end of the mountain range.
It is a large river for trout fishing.
In 1990 the government began to close the river with a dam at Acheloos, just below Petroto, to build an artificial lake with 600 million m³ of water. There has been considerable resistance from environmental activists. This project is currently frozen due to the economic situation.
